The next day of our trip was to Plymouth, you know, where the infamous rock is! Yeah, it sounds a lot more exciting than it really was, but hey, it's history! We also went on the Mayflower II. You know the story, pilgrims, thanksgiving feast and all that. That was cool, but it was very very cold and wet! I had to go buy some new shoes because my flip flops were just not going to cut it in old MA! The whole reason for this trip was actually visit my great uncle George who lives in Cape Cod. He is 91 and it was so wonderful to see him. His wife Pam, was the person I was named after so it was great to see them both! Last time I saw them, I was 17 years old! The coolest part of our visit... other than seeing family... Aunt Pam had two real oysters for my girls... opened them up and there were real pearls inside! She had two silver necklaces with a little basket and put the pearls in them for each girl. I mean, how cool is THAT!!! She made homemade clam chowder too. OH!!! YUMMMM!!!

Did you miss me???
I know I have let you all down by going on vacation for 2 weeks, but my boss is a slavedriver!!!! :D So she/I finally took a vacation with my family to the northeast where I'm from. Yes, I'm a Yankee...get over it! :D My husband is from GA, so we had a lot of fun figuring out our dialects....like when I said "I need to set the bed" and he said "do you want me to tote that for you?" Or "you guys" instead of "yall." My favorite of his is, "How much do you like being there." Huh?!? "I like being there very much thank you?" Oh that means how close am I to getting there. Jeeze! Or the first time he said I "favor" my mom. Well she is my mom I like her very much.... oh! He was trying to tell me I look like her. WoW! That was fun and it still is 10 years later. So taking him up to Yankee Town was so much FUN! We loved hearing the "funny" accents up there and they enjoyed his also! We started our trip in Boston and took the duckboat tour. It was awesome. Mark said he learned more about history in that day than he did in all of his schooling. There is SO MUCH HISTORY there! I loved the old buildings, but it was FREEEEZING!!!!! About 55, wind and rain. Welcome to Boston! My favorite part of Boston, going to the North End/Little Italy to get some cannolis and pizza! We went to Mikes. It was so cool. It was packed wall to wall with people yelling out what they wanted, no lines, no numbers, you're on your own kid. There were a half dozen kind of cannolies to choose from, I was in heaven! They were sprinkled with powdered sugar and put in a box and tied with string. I felt like I was in a Godfather movie! I loved walking the cobblestone streets and the dark alleyways. I really felt like I was in another time! We had to stop at the Boston Museum of science to get some long sleves for the kids because dummy/me didn't pack any warm clothes. It's JUNE!!! Well, I'll be commenting about each day of our trip on my blog because it was just so super awesome! I'll also be posting current photo sessions as well, so don't fret PMP fans! I'll feed your pretty little eyes with some candy soon enough! :D

The long awaited wedding photos!
Typically I finish a wedding within about a week. I actually pride myself in my turnaound time because I've had clients tell me about their friends who've waited months, even up to 6 months for their wedding photos. I know the anticipation is great, but really! That's a long time!! So even with three weddings in my queue I was able to finish Danielle and Tommy's wedding within two weeks!! Whoo hoo!

This weekend's masterpiece!
I say that only because the subjects were, not the artist! :D Mary and Justin is going on a month long honeymoon to Europe, so I decided to post a couple of previews for everyone to chew on till they get back. Their wedding was at Hightower Falls and it was gorgeous! Everything went perfectly and the photos are amazing. I'll be posting their gallery later in June. Enjoy!

Paige & Judson
I met with Paige and Judson about a year ago and I can't belive the time has gone by so quickly!!! She has such great ideas for her wedding and was imediately thinking about photography when we met. She even sent me some of her ideas before she even sent in her contract! :D I just love it when people make photography a priority on their wedding day. It really shows in their photos and everyone's expecations are realistic when it comes to time frame. I think their engagement photos at Berry College turned out SO awesome! I can't wait for the wedding!
Fall Weddings!
I just love Fall weddings! I just booked Sandy for her wedding in October at McGarity House! I officially have no dates open till November. But I do have several awesome associate photographers available all year long at rates starting at $1500!

A-Town!
The thing I remember most about Holly and Mark's Atlanta wedding? Every time they were apart during the reception...they were looking for each other. Every wedding has it's own vibe for me and this one just oozed *L*O*V*E*! Mark was the perfect gentleman and Holly in her own words had "a lot of class, but knows how to keep it real." And that's just how I would describe thier day. Everything was perfect! Right down to her Swarovski jewelry and the Cathedral in Buckhead . And at the same time, everyone was so fun, patient and great to work with! I know I always say it, but it's people like them that make my job so much fun. Thanks so much Holly and Mark!!!

I survived!
This weekend was a wedding extravaganza!! I had an all day wedding at McGarity House on Friday and an all day wedding in Atlanta on Saturday... all over the place! I'll put more details later, but I'm so glad I can walk today! :) I had so much fun at both weddings and the people were so awesome, so it made all of the torture on my feet worth while! In the meantime, here is a peek at some of Holly's bridal portraits that we took last week in Atlanta. More to come later....

Special Photojournalist Wedding Package!
After chatting with one of my photographer friends today we came up with an interesting idea for wedding coverage. I liked the idea so much I decided to offer it as a package option through the month of June to see if it was something people would be interested in.The package is for photojournalistic coverage of your wedding. That means no posed photos. Just a documentation of your entire day as if I wasn't even there. It's a great way to capture your day as it was without any interuption from traditional posed photos. There will be about 1/2 hour for limited family photos and group shots and a few portraits, but the focus of the day is to cover everything candidly! I'm so excited about this option and if it proves to be popular, I'll add it to my normal rates and even add a "day-after" session, which I highly recommend anyhow! Call for more details!!!

Derrika & Jason
Every once in a while I start to wonder why I even keep up with my blog, or why anyone would even care. Then I met Tammy. Tammy was Derrika's maid of honor and she is what I'm going to call a Paris Moutntain Superfan! She really made me feel so good about myself. Okay, before my head gets too big to put the camera strap on, I know that I am just human and I make lots and LOTS of mistakes! But it's people like the ones at Derrika's wedding that remind me why I love my job SO MUCH! Tammy, this blog is for you... :)

Return Customers!
I shot the Brooks family over a year ago who found my info from another family I shot. I just love it when friends tell their friends about me, and they come back to me for a second shoot. It helps me to know that I'm doing at least something right! :D

E-Session
Chelsea's mom called me several months ago to shoot her wedding, but I was not available on their date. We were both so dissapointed, but that turned around when she asked me to shoot her engagement and bridal session anyhow. The location they chose was perfect! It had the grassy fields, old barn and tree lined driveway. They were all such sweet people we even chatted for a while after the session. And if you know me... you know I LOVE to chat! :)

Baby portraits!
Elizabeth is the niece of Melita from the McGarity House, so it was fitting that we shot her baby pictures there! It was the perfect setting and Elizabeth was the perfect baby! She was so cute and played along wonderfully! She hardly made a peep...even when we sat her in the wet morning grass! What a trooper kiddo!

Kristi's Bridal Shower
Boy, when they throw a party...! I think it was the nicest bridal shower I've ever been to. They met a the nail salon in Cedartown with a punch fountain, hor' devours (sp?), chandelier and super duper pro-photog! :D Everyone enjoyed the snacks while they got their spa mani-pedi and enjoyed each other's company. The salon was closed to the public, so it was an intimate group and loads of fun! I'll have to keep notes on this one for when my daughters get married!

Ashley & Jonathan
I was so excited when Ashley booked me for her wedding because she first met me almost 3 years ago at my booth at an arts festival. I guess my photos made a good impression because when she got engaged this year she called me up and booked! Their engagement session was a Berry College. This place has it all! I love shooting there and the colors are so great! Thanks for picking an awesome location for your E-Session!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!
I hope I spelled that right because I don't speak Spanish and I'm a terrible speller either way! Anyhow, I was looking through Christy & Doug's wedding photos today and noticed a lot that my second photog, Jarett, shot of me, and one from Christy's friend. I never get my photo taken... and now I see why. I seriously need some new wedding clothes! :D
This is what happens when you give your camera to the groom.

Bridgett & Jason
It couldn't have rained any more that day, but Bridgett was cool as a cucumber. The entire day was moved around due to the bad weather, but instead of giving up, she got umbrellas and used it as an opportunity to take some totally awesome pictures in the rain!!! I loved her ideas and they even dared to go out to get a great shot in front of the house. I mean, this couple was committed to getting great photos! I really enjoyed working with Bridgett and Jason. Their day went by so smoothly and everyone was so nice. I love my job!!! :D

Relaxing today for a marathon wedding tomorrow!
I'm really excited about Christy and Doug's wedding tomorrow in Rome. She has such great ideas I just know it's going to turn out awesome! It's an all day shooting extravaganza! And she has the most detailed timeline I've ever had. I love it!!! So, today I didn't go out, I didn't excersize, and I didn't work too much. I just spent the day with Brooke while my other girls spend the night at their grandparents. I even got to take a nap!!! Gotta fuel up for tomorrow!

My Best Friends' first unofficial engagement photo!!!
Jarett and Jared (yes that's their names) came over to to show me her ultra fabulous engagement ring and take some photos with her new Nikon D90 camera. So, while we were out there I snapped this shot of them! The sky was so dramatic! But best of all, Jarett took dozens of photos of the sunset and while we were looking through them we thought we saw birds, so I zoomed in and look what we saw!!! No Way...... WAY!!!!

Planning your wedding???
Over the years I have learned a thing or two about shooting a wedding and I would say the most important thing in terms of photography is being organized and detailed. One of the very first things I ask of everyone I work with is to make a timeline for your day and a family photo list for the group photos. There are SO many reasons this is important.
#1. The timeline will help
#2. The timeline also helps
#3. It also helps you plan for the time
#4. The timeline will help me know if there
#5. The family photo list will help me or your
#6. It will cut down on chaos so everyone will I also suggest having a wedding coordinator to help with the ceremony timeline and family photos. It can be a family friend, but someone who is organized and outgoing enough to rally people together and help move people along after the ceremony so you can get the family photos done in an orderly way. I've been so blessed with all of the weddings that I shot over the years that almost everyone has been this organized. It really makes your day go so smoothly and everyone will have a great time, including me!!! I included a photo of one of my MOST organized brides Jennifer. She had hours of shooting on her timeline, but since everyone knew what to expect on that day, everyone was in good spirits the entire time and we had a blast! Her photos turned out great, but the best part is we all had a fantastic time doing it!!

Just Married...
After weeks and weeks of rain, the clouds finally parted for Monique and Jadrian's wedding at Fanti Events in Suwanee. Monique got ready at a nearby hotel and the ceremony and reception were held at Fanti. There was a gorgeous fountain nearby so we snagged some romantic shots there and they played along so well when I asked them to lay in the grass while dressed in white. I think it paid off... and we didn't get any grass stains! It was a great way to begin the spring wedding season!!!

We went camping on Wildcat Creek, a 10 year family tradition. Brooke stayed home with the grandparents. We didn't catch any fish, but we had a great time! Luckily we got out before the rain!

April Fools!!!
Oh YEAH! My second favorite holiday ever! Last year I made a meat cake and saran wrapped my husband's car. The year before that I short sheeted his bed. And before that I've faked a pregnancy, hid all of his underpants, changed all of the clocks in the house and the list goes on! He was really on his game today, so he found the toy balls in the bed and the syrup on the toilet seat. But he missed the salt in the toothpaste and the soap that doesn't work. (I covered it with clear nail polish). Tee Hee. I still haven't heard if he noticed the glitter in the air vents in his car tonight. Eh he he he!!By the way, amidst all of the fun and games, I was able to finish Camille's senior portait session. Her photos were so good, that I didn't want to squeeze them into a collage. I wanted to see them BIG!

Not really, but I've been on this computer all month just updating the Paris Mountain Photography website and the Kiss The Bride website, along with advertizing, facebook and blogs. I'm so ready to get outside and just lay in the sunny grass... Ahhhhh. I'm really looking forward to the spring wedding season which starts for me next week at Fanti Events in Suwanee. Last time I was there was for Aundrea's wedding last Summer. She was such a stunning bride!
