It's hard to believe that I took Emily's senior portraits so many years ago and now we're celebrating her marriage to Kyle!! It seems like just yesterday we were blowing bubble gum and now we're waving sparklers!!! I love working with families like hers because when I arrive for "work" it's like being with family!! Their wedding was so beautiful at Muse Farm!! Congratulations!

I have had the opportunity to take senior pictures for a lot of young men and women involved in all types of sports and extracurricular activities. For some reason I'm asked to to baseball and softball the most. Recently I've taken senior portraits for a girl who plays volleyball. A very fun session was actually not a sport, but it was theater. We got to go into the dressing room, wardrobe closet and shot her photos on the stage! Cheer, football, boxing, tennis, swimming and dance. I've done it all! So when Kaitlin told me she is in lacrosse I was sooo excited!! I love getting creative with new challenges, new gear and new locations!! We shot her session in Atlanta and it really was a fun day!!! Even in the heat of the summer, good hair and makeup can stand the test of time! I always suggest professional hair and makeup for engagement sessions and senior portrait sessions, for girls of course. The heat and humidity can cause hair to frizz, fluff up and fly away! Your makeup can run or simply disappear in the heat! Great hair and makeup artists use professional products that will hold up in this brutal heat!!! Taylor arrived for her engagement session and looked amazing! She said she did it all herself! I couldn't believe how great her photos turned out!!! SO, humbled, I must admit, that you can do your own hair and makeup. But you have to do it like a BOSS, like Taylor did!!!!!!

Sometimes when I meet a bride to book her wedding it's just the two of us. I love making a connection and finding out that we can be BFF's! But its also super important to meet the groom either at this meeting or another time before the wedding. That way they know who I am and are comfortable with me. The last thing I want to do is show up to a wedding not knowing the groom. Then, I'm just "The Photographer." If I get to know the groom before the wedding, then when I arrive for groomsmen photos it's more like, "Hey! Pam is here!" Not only does that make me feel great!!! But it also sets the tone for all of the groomsmen, that the groom likes me, trusts me and they usually follow suit! So, if the groom can't make it to the initial meeting, then an engagement session is the perfect time for us to get acquainted! Usually by the end of the e-session the groom trusts me and says the words that are music to my ears, "That wasn't so bad." Picture time isn't usually the guys' favorite part of the wedding day, but at least I can make it.... "not so bad!" And happy wife, happy life!!!!
