Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where are you located?
A. PMP is located in the NW suburbs of the Atlanta Metro Area, but serves the entire Atlanta Area.  Anything outside of West Metro Atlanta may have a travel fee. Please contact us for details about portrait sessions.

Q. Are you available for Destinations sessions or weddings?
A. Yes!!! And I love them!!! I have shot in Italy, Hawaii, The Bahamas, New York City,
Washington DC, Alaska, Nevada, Florida and much more! An all day package is required and we offer special
rates for certain destinations. Feel free to contact me to chat more about your details!

Q. Do you offer the CD negatives or digital files?
A. Yes! PMP offers a virtual option. Over time CDs deteriorate and/or get lost etc. To prevent any loss of your photos, we now upload
all of your images to an online album where you can view/order and now download all of
your high res files to your computer, hard drive, thumb drive or even burn your own CD
if you prefer. It's the exact same images you'd get on a CD from me, so don't worry that
you're getting something different. Plus you get your images faster since you don't have to wait
for me to put your CD in the mail. I will e-mail you with your download password and a print
release for you to use when you go to get enlargements as soon as I get your online album
finished. So, the answer is YES, but in a different format than CD. :D

Q. What is the difference between a High Resolution CD, and the Full Resolution CD?
A. There is no difference. They are both the best quality images you can get. They are also referred
to as the CD negatives sometimes and you are able to use them to print your own enlargements.

Q. Where can I go to print enlargements?
A. I highly recommend purchasing your prints through your photographer. Prints
from Sam's Club and Walmart look great to begin with, but they are printed on
cheap paper and will not last. Professional photo labs use quality paper
that will last for decades without fading or changing color. A bad print can
make an awesome photo look bad.

Q. How long do you keep my photos?
A. I keep every edited photo I take for-ever!

Q. Do you backup your photos?
A. Yes! I make digital copies on an external hard drive, CDs and online. I even keep
another backup in a fireproof box.

Q. Do you shoot with an assistant or second photographer?
A. Typical photo sessions don't require an assistant, but I bring one from time to time to help with lighting.  I almost always bring an assistant to weddings who acts like a second shooter and gets different angles.

Q. Do I have to purchase an album now, or can I wait?
A. You can wait! You can order an album or prints at anytime after the wedding.  There 7% GA sales tax on all printed products.

Q. How long does it take to get my pictures back?
A. A portrait session's turn around time is two weeks.  A typical wedding takes about three to four weeks to finish.
I’ve never had anyone wait longer than four weeks…. Knock on wood…

Q. What happens if you aren’t able to shoot the wedding at the last minute?
A. I have several trusted/talented photographers and friends. Thankfully, I haven’t had any
emergencies come up, but I know I have a team of good backups if something were to happen.

Q. What if I cancel my session or wedding after I have already booked?
A. The session fee or retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable for any cancellation.

Q. Do you touch up minor blemishes?
A. Yes! Each photo is touched mostly for light and color correction, and if there is a small blemish or mark, I try to make
sure to clean it up. After all, it’s my job to make you look fabulous! I do however want you to look like you, so
I don't "shave off" 20lbs, take out braces, or other major edits.

Q. How many pictures to you take?
A.  For a one hour photo session you usually get about 30-40 digital proofs to view in studio.

For a typical wedding I will take an average of thee thousand photos. I sort through and only edit
the absolutely BEST photos and provide about an average of 500-600 to the client. However, I’ve been
known to give up to 900 images for a large wedding with lots of details.

Q. Do you have liability insurance?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you have a studio?
A. Yes, but I mostly shoot outdoors or on location, so I have found that I don’t
need a studio for the type of photography I offer.

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?
A. I shoot with a Nikon D3s and D850 and D810 at the moment.

Q. Do you have backup equipment?
A. Absolutely. I usually arrive to an event with two cameras, three flashes, tons of memory
and battery backups as well.

Q. How far in advance should I book you for my wedding?
A. Typically I book session about 2-3 months in advance.  Weddings are booked about a year in advance! So please book as soon as possible to guarantee I'm available.
