After all these years I can't believe my little bean is a senior in high school. Even more scary that in less than a year she will be out of the house! I'm so proud of her and all that she's accomplished and I'm so excited to see what she does in her life! I'm going to have to let her spread her wings and fly out in the real world. I'm not sure who is more scared. Her or me! :D

One thing is for sure, Hannah knows what she wants. We shoot a lot of country weddings together and she did not want the typical grassy field, barn type senior pictures. She doesn't totally love the city, but she wanted her senior portraits to look different than her friends, so we headed to midtown Atlanta and shot her session, in the rain no less, but I think that added to the bright lights and big city!

I can't believe my very own high school senior is about to graduate in 2019. But it got me thinking that juniors are almost seniors and - BAM! There goes another year!! So the class of 2020 is almost here and I usually book portrait sessions in the spring and summer before their senior year, so now is the time to start looking for the perfect photographer. The first place to look is to see what your friends are doing. Are they going to a friend to take their pictures. Maybe mom has a nice camera. Or the school has high volume portrait studios that come and take some quick snaps.

Most people who come to me are the ones who REALLY want a special experience. They want their portrait session to really be about them and not like and assembly line with cookie cutter poses and images. I work with each and every teen who comes to me and find out about what they want their session to look like. Do they have a hobby, a special pet, an epic location in mind. Anything that will bring out their uniqueness and personality! Something that you usually don't get with the high volume portrait studios.

The question people usually ask themselves is, "Can we afford a true professional photographer?" But the truth is, you can! In fact, one of the local high volume studios offers a package of $750. That's more than what I charge for digital files AND your portraits are going to be 100x more fabulous and your experience will be 100x more personal!

So before you jump the gun and go with a photographer that you think will be - cheap - easy - fast - etc, think about what your senior wants to have to remember his or her last year of high school. It will be the last year they will be at home and really be young! They're growing up fast and it's time to capture their youth before they go off to college and start adulting!

I've been having so much fun with my 2019 seniors, but before you know it, it will be time to turn over the reigns to the class of 2020!!!!

There are so many wedding venues in the Atlanta and surrounding areas. So many to choose from that it can be very overwhelming. Then you arrive at one venue and it just speaks to you! And you feel like you've been whisked away to a mountain retreat far away from the world and your wedding there will be nothing less than perfect! That's what it's like to get married at Indigo Falls. The setting is serene with quaint cabins, lakes, waterfalls and countless backdrops that would make any photographer swoon! They even have an outdoor or indoor option for the ceremony just in case mother nature decides to water the flowers! But on top of the dreamy setting, the staff at Indigo Falls is impeccable! They cater to absolutely every whim and desire of their clients. Because every wedding couple there is like family and they take care of family! I love shooting senior girls! They are just always so excited to get their pictures taken, excited to see them at my studio when they're finished, and excited to share them with their friends! Nicole was a super cute senior from Cedartown High School and we had so much fun driving around to three different epic locations for her shoot! I'm so glad her family loves them as much as I do!
