I LOVE the fair! Shooting sessions at the fair has always been my favorite thing to do and I've been doing them for years. It's usually time consuming, and costly, but in the end it's totally worth it! Lucky for me my family also loves the fair and after my sessions we stay and ride the rides, go to the shows, feed the animals and eat lots of junk food till the place closes down! Last year I shot an engagement session at the fair and they told me they have NEVER been to a fair ever! I was so sad for them! The fair is always great family time.

Lucky for me I have a class of 2019 graduating senior of my very own! So at the fair I asked her if we could take some precious time away from the big scary rides to get a couple of shots on the sky buckets. As the daughter of a photographer she knows her duty and indulged me! I had my camera in hand and got on the bucket in front of her and as we rode the 10 minutes or so high across the main fairway at dusk I shot some great shots with my Nikon D700 with a 85mm 1.4 lens. We waited long enough for the sun to go down and the bright lights of all of the rides would be on, but there was still enough daylight so I wouldn't need strobes. I even used the light from of of the rides on of one of my other shots.

This shot was pretty simple. I just asked her to sit up straight, as any mom would tell her teenager girl, and smile at the camera. I had several other poses, but I liked the background of this one the best. In photoshop I added some blur to the background and dropped in a soft sunset. It took some time to make the shot how I wanted it. It may not be perfect, but I think it's a pretty epic senior portrait!!!

Dakota is not like every other guy. But there's something to say about a boy's senior portrait session. Let's face it. Most guys are doing it to make their moms happy, right? Unlike girls' senior pictures who have thought about their location and wardrobe, hair and makeup, albums and photos on the wall for years, the guys just want to show up, smile - maybe - and be done. But that's totally okay! It's completely normal! Honestly I would be somewhat surprised if a High School boy was thrilled about his senior pictures! And frankly that just shows how humble they are, right? So, if your son, boyfriend, buddy or whatever isn't over the moon about getting their senior portraits taken, no worries! I will make it as painless as I possibly can! The best compliment I got from a boy once was that he was glad I'm "not weird." HAHAH!! I'll take that! Most boys at the end of their session will politely tell me that it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. And I walk to my car and pat myself on the back with a job well done. And when mom comes in to my studio and sees her little boy's last professional photo session till he probably gets married and she tears up a little when she see's her baby look so grown up....then I've done my job!!!!

To say my family portrait session with the Turner's was an adventure is an understatement! From getting their hair and makeup done by the amazing women at Glamour Affair, walking around midtown Atlanta, crossing the streets and not getting hit by traffic, dodging people of all walks of life, avoiding getting kicked out of multiple locations and finding parking - where there's no parking! This session definitely was one for the books! And their photos definitely show our amazing Downtown Atlanta adventure!!!!

I was so excited when Allison asked me to shoot her wedding at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta! It is one of my favorite locations for a wedding! We had ton's of fun shooting their engagement session in Piedmont Park. Usually a session there takes about an hour and a half, but she had the brilliant idea to get some scooters and we zoomed around the park in record time! It was a beautiful summer evening and we got some pretty romantic skyline photos! I can't wait till their wedding next year!
